NHS (National Health Service)

Question: Examine the main ideological positions in the debate on the reform of the NHS and assess the key arguments put forward by each position for reform. This will require clear examples applied to each ideological position you discuss. This requires you to link task 2 to this task and clearly assess( rate the value and worth) of the arguments proposed by the ideological positions and their reasons for the reform of the NHS? Answer: Introduction The NHS (National Health Service) was created for the ordinary people of the UK. It is formed that the regular people can get the health services without any cost. The government takes tax from every individual for this service. A poor person can get a good healthcare through this NHS. The central principle of the NHS is to meet the needs of everyone. The NHS is free of cost. The NHS was formed in the year 1948, until then it is 60 years in the journey of the NHS. This service is for all irrespective of their gender, age, religion, belief, pregnancy, maternity. This service is designed to diagnose, treat and improve both physical and mental health. The NHS has a duty towards each and every individual that it serves and respects his or her human rights. It also has social responsibility of providing equality between all the people of the UK. The NHS pays attention to the poor people especially and is engaged with their health care services. Services for everyone The NHS service is for all the citizens of the UK irrespective of the gender, race, disability, age religion, gender. Therefore, there is no division among the people. Every person is treated equally. The primary cause of the formation of this society is that all the people can get equal treatment. The health services have been created in such a way that the poor people can get treatment like others. In the past, it has been seen that many people were dying due to improper health conditions. So the government has decided to make an organization that can serve the poor people of the country( Pirie et al., 2015).The formation of this organization has made it easy for the poor people to get good medical and healthcare services. However, it has some bad sides also. Sometimes it is not possible for the poor people to get the proper services of NHS. The main cause behind this is that they sometimes are not able to reach the services. For example, the elderly people cannot always get the touch to the NHS because they are unable to go to the care centers of NSH. The disabled and the older people cannot reach to the care centers. As a result, they are deprived of these services. The NHS has made some facilities by which these deprived people can get some help. However, it is not enough. The government has to make some special services that all the poor people can get the proper services (Shrimpton et al., 2014). Quality of services The NSH services made the medical services much higher in quality. The quality is very safe. Over the past 60 years, the NSH has provided an excellent service. In a study, it has been seen that the mortality rate of the poor people due to improper medical care is decreased in the last few year. Therefore, it can be said that the NSH has provided a great service and fulfilling the cause for which it has been created. Not only the poor people but the rich people also are dependent on this service. The faith in this service is increasing day by day (Stavropoulos et al., 2014).This is because the service is fast enough, the doctors and the nurses who are attached to the services are very efficient. The doctors have some miracle operations in the recent years. However, there are some problems also. In some cases, it has been seen that the service is not sufficient. Some street people have died in the recent times. It has been said by some news channels that the deaths are for the bad services of the NSH. This has created a lot of issue regarding the services of the NSH. This incident has caught the attention of the ordinary people and decreased their faith towards this service. The rich people have started to take the medical care from the private organizations. This is helpful for the private agencies and good for the business. However, the level of the healthcare services has decreased a lot. The NSH has a worldwide reputation for their services. The deaths of the poor people have made a mark in this service. Therefore, the government has to see this matter seriously and have to take necessary steps (Gilbert et al., 2014). Medication problem The doctors and the nurses present in the NSH are highly efficient in their work. They are very much professional and doing their job efficiently. The procedure of the NSH has become a great thing in the UK. The people of this country have faith in this organization. In a worldwide survey, it has been seen that the NSH is one of the biggest agencies in the world giving good health services. Many countries have also copied the idea of free treatment without cost. The NSH has become a heritage of the UK. However, there are problems in the nursing care (Waterson et al., 2014).It have been seen that the nurses and medical persons are not sometimes trained perfectly. Therefore, the medication-related problem is occurring. Sometimes the nurses are giving wrong medicine to the patients. This has become a significant issue and the cause of many deaths of elderly people in the country. The medication-related problem has become a cause of uncertain death. Due to a private organization, the NSH has become a nightmare for the patients due to the wrong medication. The nurses should be given proper training that this kind of problems can be decreased as much as possible (Ludman et al., 2012). Reformation in the NHS The present government has already made a research on the problems of the NHS. It has been the patient safety issue is the biggest problem. So the government have decided to reform the NHS.A lot of strategies have been already employed. The nurses and doctors have been given proper training for this reformation. Strict rules have been employed to decrease the medication problem. If the NHS is reformed in a new way then the common people of the UK can be benefitted and it will make a great impression in the UNITED NATIONS.UK has a great heritage in the form of NHS as there is no other country with a service like this. The reformation in the NHS has been a revolutionary effect in the history of UK. Conclusion So it can be concluded from this study that the poor people sometimes are not getting perfect access to the services. The elderly people are mostly affected. They are not getting accurate services due to their disability. The staffs of the NHS are primarily responsible for this and methods should be employed that the ordinary people can get access to the service. The NHS staffs have to reach the elderly and disabled people. Another problem is the delay in the treatment of the patients. A delay can make an end to a life. In few places in UK, the workers of the NHS are causing the delay in the treatment procedure. The NHS has to increase the medical equipment that they can serve more people in time and save the lives. Another problem associated with the NHS is the wrong medication process. The authorities also have to train the nurses that they can provide useful services.
